Pondview Estate Winery
Pondview Estate Winery may be known for its big, juicy Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon wines, but it’s an indulgent little bite of chocolate and icewine that keeps Ottawa Wine and Food Festival lovers lining up for more.
Initially devised as a one-off promotion for Pondview’s icewine, the Belgian chocolate icewine shooters are now so popular, the estate itself goes through 10,000 a year.
“It’s a new way of consuming your two favourite indulgences. Saves you time,” laughs Marcel Morgenstern, director of sales for Pondview.
This year, Pondview will bring not only their big reds to the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival, but also their Lot 74 white blend, a crisp pinot grigio, a new sparkling wine and the iconic icewine shooters.
“We love coming to Ottawa because Ottawans love Niagara wines. It’s not just a party – people in Ottawa are keenly interested in learning and sharing their appreciation for what we do,” he says.
Pondview Estates will be part of the Tasting Floor. Sample tickets are $1; sample prices vary by vendor.
