New this year, is Carnivore, a curated charcuterie experience! Ottawa’s own Michael McKenzie of Seed to Sausage brings his delicious artisanal, meats–and the company’s fascinating story–to the table. Grab your very own take home charcuterie board, and sample their award winning Genoa and Calabrese salami, Capicolo, Cheese Curd Smokies, Nduja, and Blue Cheese Jalapeno sausage. Everything is individually made by hand. Carnivore is happening up to 9 times during the Festival- we hope to see you there!

Prep School – Bottle Camp Canada: All the wines under the sun!

Canada- All the Wines Under the Sun! Canada produces almost every style of wine made anywhere in the world: still and sparkling wines; white, red, pink, and orange wines; dry and sweet wines, and everything between. Learn a few surprising things about Canadian wines from Rod Phillips (who recently wrote a book on Canadian wines) and taste a couple of interesting Canadian wines at the same time.

The Cheese Vault returns to the Festival this year with Maître Fromager, Afrim Pristine, once again unlocking the secrets of up to two dozen different types of cheese from England, Spain, Canada, Italy, and France. Feeling indulgent?

Stray Dog Brewing Company’s presentation will consist of 3 different beers – our Anytime (Pale Ale 5%), This One (California Common, 5.2%), and Shaggin’ Wagon (New England style IPA, 6%). We will talk about each beer and what influenced them, a bit of history of how we became one of Ottawa’s newest microbreweries and the first in Orleans, and what it means to be part of a growing craft beer scene in Ontario. We will also be able to answer questions about the beer specifically or about what it takes to start a new business in this market.

Is there such a thing as a ‘right wine’. Rod Phillips will talk about the options and you’ll taste some interesting wines. Maybe one of them will be ‘right’ for you.

Always a sellout, this year’s Tasting Alley is featuring The Small Winemakers Collection. Enter the Alley through a separate VIP entrance, and meet eight wine makers and experience over 75 international private label wines produced by small and family-owned wineries. This 2 hour event will also feature Gourmet tasting stations and pass around hors d’oeuvres!
