There won’t be another brick in the wall at the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival, but there will be a donut – hundreds and hundreds of donuts.
Created for the festival by Kyle Hector of Mavericks Donuts, the 140sq ft Donut Wall will be more than a tasty temptation. It’ll be the biggest paean to pastry Kyle’s ever made.
“We have the pros working on it,” he laughs. “It’ll be an awe-inspiring showpiece of art, decorated with our signature colours and donuts.”
Although Mavericks opened less than a year ago at its Bank Street location, the buzz about their maple bacon, lemon ricotta and fritter donuts (all coming to the festival) is growing so quickly, they’re looking at expanding.
“We want Ottawa to have its own uniquely Ottawa donut shop. And so far, so good.”
